Lego’s Newest Batmobile Is the Coolest of Them All

There is There were many Batmobiles over the years and many Lego Batmobiles Plus, the 1966 TV show’s take on Bruce’s chosen ride has always been one of the best. The bold red lines, the sleek angles, those double front mirrors that almost look like the eyes on Batman’s mask: a perfect reflection of the series’ wild turn towards the caped crusader. And not for the first time, Crafted in LegoThis is definitely the best look it’s ever had in brick form.

This week, Lego quietly joined Batusi in announcing that a new 1,822-piece replica of the classic ’60s Batmobile will be released next month. The model does a great job of using its larger scale to capture the sleek lines and curves of the original vehicle, and features little features like a fully detailed interior for both sides of the car for Batman and Robin, and even an opening trunk that includes a mobile crime computer. While not in minifigure scale (the last one arrived a few years ago in 2021), the new set comes with a minifigure of Adam West’s iconic Bright Knight, and there’s also a small display base with a Gargoyle=highlighted rooftop corner for him to pose with a batarang on.

Not only is it a great-looking set, but – surprisingly for Lego, whose higher-end sets have been giving people quite a few price shocks lately – it’s actually not too badly priced either. At $150 for 1,800 pieces and a replica its size, it’s a pretty reasonable price compared to Lego’s recent crop of big-ticket collectible sets. The Legend of Zelda That’s not to say that $150 isn’t still a lot of money, but it’s not bad at all compared to where Lego has been trending lately with popular adult sets.

The ’66 Batmobile will be in stores starting October 1st, currently available for pre-order.
