Angel Reese and Sheryl Swoopes Share Emotional Moment After Sky’s Loss

The Chicago Sky suffered their seventh straight defeat on Tuesday, falling 90-71 to the Las Vegas Aces. As a result, Chicago is 11-22 on the year and is now tied with the Atlanta Dream for the eighth and final WNBA playoff spot.

Sky rookie Angel Reese had another solid performance in the loss, finishing with 12 points, 16 rebounds and 2 steals in 31 minutes of play. Despite her efforts and those of rookie Kamilla Cardoso (who added 14 points), the Sky played with little passion or enthusiasm and never came close to competing with A’ja Wilson and the Aces.

WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes sat courtside during Tuesday’s game. Swoopes making headlines Over the last few days, due to his apparent refusal to acknowledge rookie Caitlin Clark’s accomplishments, turned into a sad epic.

But Swoopes has no problem showing affection to Angel Reese; that’s proof. Instagram story Reese shared after Tuesday’s frustrating defeat.

Reese posted a selfie next to Swoopes on Tuesday and captioned it, “Tears, laughter, and smiles with the GOAT today were much needed love you forever @airswoopes22.”

This isn’t the first time the two women’s basketball icons have shared an emotional moment. Swoopes also attended Chicago’s win over Clark and the Indiana Fever on June 23 and was seen hugging Reese after the game.

Reese and Swoopes are fighting their own battles right now, so it’s great to see them finding comfort and support in each other.
