TCU Women’s Golf Team Competes in Carmel Cup

The TCU Women’s Golf team traveled to Pebble Beach, California to compete in the Carmel Cup. Although the Lady Horned Frogs did not finish in the top five, they still did what everyone else did. Angie Ravaioli-Larkin team does what it means to move up on move day. The team finished 10-over on Sunday in the final day of the Carmel Cup. On the final day, TCU’s final 18-hole score was the third-lowest in the eight-team field. They fell behind only Vanderbilt, which was +3, and second-place Arkansas, which was +7. Overall, the Horned Frogs finished sixth at +48. TCU was just one stroke away from tying for fifth place with longtime conference rival Oklahoma State. The Horned Frogs finished ahead of former Big 12 rival Oklahoma and Big 12 rival Texas Tech.

Meagan Winans he carved a piece of his own history on the course. Winans took sole possession of ninth place with three under par overall. The only senior on TCU’s roster, he was +2 going into Sunday’s round and ranked No. 2 overall among Big 12 players. He earned his first top-10 finish and the best overall result of his college career so far. Winans was one of only seven players to shoot a sub-par round in the tournament. He shot a three-under 69 on Friday. The senior is off to a really good start and is hoping to get on some leaderboards for his senior campaign.

Sunday. Sofia Barroso Sa And Kirstin Angosta led the charge. Each played even-par golf, with Barroso Sá collecting a team-high four birdies. Sá moved up seven spots on the leaderboard to 16th overall. It was another top-20 result and the young player’s ninth top-20 result of his career.

Real freshman Gracie McGovern He tied for 20th place overall. The freshman finished strong with par on his final 12 holes. Camille Min Gaultieralso a freshman, finished one stroke behind McGovern with 13 overs to tie for 22nd place.

Kirstin Angosta it was the second-biggest rise of any player in the entire tournament, jumping from 35th place to 26th. The sophomore finished strong by not making a bogey in 16 holes.

Sophomore Sofie Dimitrova On the last day, he bowled 7 overs and finished 41st in the overall ranking in 21 overs.

The Horned Frogs will now travel to Kentucky for their second tournament, competing in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational. The tournament will take place September 8-10 at Champion Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky. This will be the first time the Lady Horned Frogs will compete in this tournament. The Frogs will look to improve and get better each week. Stay tuned for another golf update following their results at this tournament.
