Ayaneo’s PC gaming portables are now available at US retailer Best Buy

The PC gaming portable market is growing rapidly, thanks to Linux devices like the Steam Deck and Windows portables like the ROG Ally, Legion Go, and MSI Claw. So much so that the integrated GPUs inside the Steam Deck and the Radeon 780M found in a number of Windows portables are now some of the most popular AMD GPUs, according to the latest Steam hardware survey.

China-based Ayaneo has been developing and manufacturing impressive PC gaming portables for several years now, using the Indiegogo platform to bring its products to a diverse audience of international PC gamers. Featuring highly sought-after, sleek designs, and powerful hardware, we have some great news for U.S. shoppers this week — Ayaneo portables are now stocked at retailer Best Buy.

However, this is not a definitive conclusion. There are currently only two Ayaneo portables available, the high-end Ayaneo Kun with an 8.4-inch 1600p display and an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U chip, and the is currently priced higher than its direct competition – a somewhat eye-watering $999.00.

It looks and sounds like a beast, especially with its huge high-resolution display. But its AMD Ryzen 7 7840U chip with integrated Radeon 780M graphics is the same hardware inside the ROG Ally ($499) and ROG Ally X ($799) – two popular Windows options that are significantly cheaper.

The second Ayaneo handheld to be available at Best Buy is the Ayaneo NEXT LITEIt’s a more budget-friendly, entry-level option with a 7-inch 800p display and a much less impressive AMD Ryzen 7 4800U chip with integrated Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics. It’s certainly capable of being a straight-up emulation device and is powerful enough to run older or less demanding PC games, but its $399.00 price point puts it in Steam Deck territory. However, the NEXT LITE is pocket-sized.

Gaming portables are more than the sum of their internal hardware, and Ayaneo has built a fan base by using high-quality displays, controllers, and cooling. And while the Ayaneo Kun is more expensive than its rivals, its massive 8.4-inch display is unlike any other.

Hopefully, this means Best Buy will start stocking newer Ayaneo handsets like the highly anticipated AYANEO Pocket EVO — a high-end Android handset with the latest Snapdragon processor and OLED display.
