Netflix Preparing for release Ryan Murphy‘S Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez StoryThe anthology crime series follows the real-life story of the Menendez brothers, who murdered their parents in cold blood in their living room.

This is the second season of the series, following the first season focusing on Jeffrey Dahmer. It tells the story of what really happened and what led to the murder of Lyle and Erik’s parents, and how the tragedy unfolded. Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez play the infamous brothers, while Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem play their parents. During the actual trial, the brothers’ legal team argued that José had sexually and physically abused both brothers for years and that they committed the murders out of fear. They were initially tried separately, but were later tried together. They are currently both sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In the official trailer, viewers can hear Koch’s Erik telling Lyle, “I thought getting rid of them would make me feel better, but I’m having nightmares,” while Chavez’s Lyle says, “Our life was a thing, and we decided we weren’t going to take it anymore. From now on, we’re going to demand more from life, and we’re never going back to f*cking.” Watch the full trailer above. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story On Netflix September 19th.
