10 NFL teams that could get new stadiums or major renovations

When it comes to stadiums, NFL owners are rarely satisfied.

The Raiders and Rams/Chargers have set the bar high for the rest of the league after opening new stadiums in 2020. The facilities are architecturally unique, modern, and serve as year-round destinations. The Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Vikings’ US Bank Stadium also fall into this category (See: NFL stadium rankings).

In the four years since SoFi Stadium and Allegiant Stadium opened, we’ve seen other teams try to improve, overhaul or build entirely new stadiums with varying success.

Let’s take a look at 10 teams that are aiming to build new stadiums or make major renovations in the near future.

The Titans broke ground this year on a $2.1 billion stadium expected to open in 2027. The stadium, which will receive $1.2 billion in public funding, is designed as a fixed-roof indoor venue to host major events such as the Super Bowl and Final Four.

Status: Major renovation plans set

The city of Jacksonville has approved a $1.4 billion plan to renovate EverBank Stadium in a project dubbed the “Stadium of the Future.” The deal would keep the Jaguars, long considered candidates to move to London, in Jacksonville for at least 30 years. If all goes according to plan, construction would begin in early 2026, with a goal of opening in 2028.
