80 Million RedCap IoT Modules Shipments Predicted by 2029, 71% of Which Will Be eRedCap – Australian Associated Press

LONDON, September 5, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — 5G RedCap was finalized in Release 17 of 3GPP to provide device OEMs with a migration path from 4G LTE to 5G for mid-range devices that sit between enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) and Low Power Wide Area (LPWA). From 2024 to 2029, 56 million modules, or 71% of all RedCap modules, will be eRedCap and 23 million, or 29% of RedCap modules, will be for 5G RedCap (R17).
