Netflix Releases Trailer for Docuseries About Vince McMahon

Netflix has released the first trailer Mr. McMahonThe streaming service’s upcoming docuseries chronicles the rise and fall of WWE founder Vince McMahon.

More than 200 hours of interviews were conducted during the four-year production, Mr. McMahon promises to offer a “deep dive” Vince McMahon controversial life began with the launch of tIn WWE and resulted in his resignation due to sexual harassment allegations.

“Mr. McMahon chronicles the rise and fall of controversial businessman and WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. From his rise to power of WWE from a small, regional business to the explosive sexual harassment allegations that ultimately led to his resignation, this six-part series takes a deep dive into McMahon’s life and enduring streak.” Netflix says.

“Drawing more than 200 hours of interviews with McMahon himself (before he stepped down), his family members, business associates, some of the most iconic figures in wrestling history, and the journalists who broke McMahon’s allegations, filmmaker Chris Smith offers an unflinching, no-holds-barred look at one of the most enigmatic figures in sports entertainment.”

McMahon, 79, bought the World Wide Wrestling Federation from his father in 1982 and over the next decades transformed it into the world’s most successful wrestling organization, taking on rivals such as WCW and ECW and virtually monopolizing the industry in the United States.

WWE had its heyday in the late 90s and early 2000s when it was known as the WWF, thanks to the Attitude Era and powerhouse stars such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Brett Hart, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, and more.

“The purpose behind Mr. McMahon was to pull back the curtain and reveal the real Vince McMahon who was hiding beneath the persona he presented to the world.” Director Chris Smith is the filmmaker behind the film Tiger Kinghe said in a statement Project Announcement.

“Over the course of four years in the making, the story unfolded in some truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely heartbreaking allegations. The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and detailed portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”

Netflix signed a historic 10-year, $5 billion deal earlier this year to be the exclusive home of WWE’s flagship show Monday Night Raw. Raw is set to debut on the platform in January 2025.

Mr. McMahon, The series, which Smith co-created with Bill Simmons, will premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, September 25.
