Vision control will lead to more reactivity and explosiveness on the ice, with offensive players skating using the net as a target with the puck and defensive players always moving towards the puck for better positioning.

As for the beefed-up AI, computer skaters having better awareness of proper positioning on the ice will give the game a more fluid feel.

Reactive actions such as collision avoidance, panic turns after passing a defender, and attackers bringing their sticks down on open passing lanes will provide greater control and a more realistic feel.

Other improvements to the game include skill-based one-time shots that rely on timing, the shooter’s overall skill and passing speed. Add in improvements to goalkeeper movements, the overall kicking system and the pressing system that rewards teams for applying pressure with more persistence, and there’s a wealth of new features tied to the ICE-Q system.

Jack and Luke play for the New Jersey Devils, while Quinn plays for the Vancouver Canucks.

EA Sports NHL 25 will launch on October 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
