Prairie Crawl invites community for art, music, food and exploration – The Lawrence Times

This weekend, community members are invited to a festival filled with food, drink, music, art, meadow games and adventure.

Doors will open for the event at The Burning Barrel on Saturday, September 7th at 12 noon. 292 North 2100 Road In Lecompton.

Brian Strecker and Kristin Werner opened Farm-restaurant and event space in 2022.

“Bring your picnic blankets, lawn chairs and pop-up tents for the farmside festival. After settling in at the concert venue, grab a snack and a farm-fresh beverage and meet our talented artists and makers,” event organizers wrote in a press release. “Between groups, take a walk through 20 acres of Native Prairie leading to natural locations and activity areas.”

Live music will include: Western Sections between 14:00 and 16:00; Rose Line Between 17:00 and 19:00; and Local Honeys from 8 to 10 p.m.

There will be seasonal foods The Fox and the Pearl, Public in the Brickyardcraft beers Central Standard Brewery And Lawrence Brewing Companyand Burning Barrel’s own wine and spirits. Food will be served from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and beverages will be served from 12 noon to 11 p.m. There will be a water station for refilling bottles.

A local art market will be held from 12pm to 7pm Delicate Hammer, Toro Designs, Woodland Creations, Moon Sun, LFK Press, Wind World WorkshopSue’s From Kansas and more.

Tickets are $17.50 for children ages 6 to 12, and $35 for children ages 13 and older. burningbarrelkansas.com/wildfire-events.

Children ages 5 and under can attend the event for free, rain or shine, but please leave your dogs at home, as outside animals are prohibited from entering the facility due to county regulations and farm safety protocols, the statement said.
