Melania Trump’s Memoir Launch Hints at Former First Lady’s ‘Truth’

Melanie Trump He will lean hard on the ‘truth’ in his forthcoming memoir Melanya.

“Writing this memoir has been a deeply personal and thought-provoking journey for me. As a private person who has often been subject to public scrutiny and misrepresentation, I feel a responsibility to tell the truth,” the former first lady says in a new black-and-white video shared on social media today, in which Trump, 54, speaks directly to the camera with half of his body in shadow. “I believe it is important to share my perspective — the truth.”

These comments are Trump’s first since the election. Skyhorse Publishing released clarified in July. The 48-second video also features a montage of clips from her official duties as first lady, many of which show her chatting with, hugging or showing kindness to children as she travels the world.

According to the publisher, Melania will reflect on her childhood growing up in Slovenia, her “chance encounter” with Donald Trump that “forever changed the course of her life,” and “behind the scenes” stories about her time in the White House during her husband’s controversial presidency. “Melania offers an unprecedented perspective on her time as a First Lady born outside the United States — a role she embraced with honor and dedication. She draws readers into her world and offers an insightful account of a woman who lived an extraordinary life on her own terms. Melania Trump’s story is one of resilience and independence, showcasing her strength and unwavering commitment to her authentic self.”

The book is scheduled to be published on October 8, expected to coincide with the final weeks of the current campaign cycle in which President Trump is seeking re-election facing Democratic nominee and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris. “Melania is my rock and my foundation, and I would not be the man I am today without her by my side,” he wrote in a blurb for the book.

Other voices chimed in for the back of the book, but none offered responses to the text itself, only thoughts on her looks or intelligence. These included Kellyanne Conway (“(Melania) is) extraordinary, elegant, beautiful, intelligent…”), Nikki Haley (“First Lady Melania Trump is a smart, beautiful, patriotic treasure for our country”), Brigitte Macron (“Charming, intelligent, and very articulate”) and Dana Perino (“She lights up the room, and I think she could light up the country”).

The book is currently available for pre-order for $150 for the collector’s edition, $75 for the signed edition, and $40 for the regular edition.
