Torrington Volleyball sweeps Burns away

BURNS, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Torrington Volleyball improved to 5-2 on the young season with a sweep of Burns.

The Lady Trailblazers played a fundamentally sound game.

The environment was almost always just right for junior Natalie Long to adjust to her role as a lone passer on the court.

His efforts contributed to his making effective shots at the net.

The sets ended as follows: 25-20, 25-10, 25-13.

This was a young Burns team with only two senior players on the roster, but they showed heart and effort.

The Lady Broncs had a great time and never gave up a point throughout the match, earning 10 set points.

In volleyball, you live and die by your serve, and Torrington proved that by recording 14 aces. Senior Outside Hitter Olive Osmera had seven aces.

“My favorite thing was definitely our hustle and our energy,” Osmera said. “We didn’t want to play a lower-level team and I thought we did a great job of overcoming that tonight. We just keep moving forward from here, one win at a time, and hopefully we can win the state championship.”

Both teams have a long weekend of volleyball tournaments ahead of them.
