iQIYI launches new stand-up comedy show

Original stand-up comedy show The King of Stand-up Comedy It premiered on iQIYI, China’s leading online entertainment provider, on August 16.

The show, initiated by famous Hong Kong film star and director Stephen Chow, features 44 groups of comedians competing to win the title of “King of Comedy” by showcasing their comedic talent, creativity and adaptability over six rounds.

Following its release, the show quickly gained popularity in the comedy variety genre, reaching a content popularity index of 8,700 and sparking widespread social media discussions. It also topped iQIYI’s variety show charts in overseas markets including the United States, Canada, and Australia.
